The End Of The F***ing World
By Salma Galal
It’s a rare thing to find a series that has impressed both viewers and critics, and that’s what exactly "The End Of The F***ing world" has done.
It's a British dark comedy-drama series which is based on a graphic novel. However, it has two main characters; James the 17 years old teenager who's pretty sure he is a psychopath. Alyssa, also 17, who is the cool and moody new girl at school. Both of them make a connection by a very weird and creepy way just like them, then she persuades him to go with her on a spontaneous road trip, and here where the story begins showing us the true characters of James and Alyssa.
What distinguishes this series is that it has been showed in just 8 episodes and each episode takes 25 minutes maximum which encourages people who are not huge series fans –just like me- to watch it and give it a try without worrying of getting bored.
The show also shows that teenagers might be aggressive, isolated, and behave in a creepy way because of what they faced in their childhood, and how their parents were treating them then which is a very important subject and the series makers have successfully discussed it in a dark and comic way.
It also shows how James's and Alyssa's feelings rise along the way and how they get so connected together which makes viewers become emotionally attached, sympathising with them. Even more you will truly believe that love could do anything, I don't wanna spoil it, so if you watch it you will see how love totally changes James who said his famous words "she made me feel things".
At the end I can say that "The End Of The F***ing World" is a light and successful series that goes too popular among all series geeks and amateurs as well, so I highly recommend watching it.
