Those were the days my friend
By Salma Galal
If anyone would ask me "what's the best thing in your life?" I would say "my friends" without a doubt. I think that God sums up all my life's blessings into my friends, and I'm totally satisfied by that.
Whenever I'm upset or depressed because the lack of anything in my life, I remember my friends immediately and tell myself: "my friends are here, everything is gonna be alright then."
Actually, I think that my memories with my friends are more like the fuel which makes me keep going in this frustrating and tiring life. I start remembering all the laughing, dancing, singing, silly and nonsense moments of us together when "we were younger and free" as the legend "Adele" said. These moments are irreplaceable and I wish we could turn back time to live them and enjoy them again and again.
But as we are getting older and the responsibilities are increasing, these marvelous moments with our friends are reduced and reduced until they turn into rare moments. And this is the worst thing that could ever happen to me, or to anyone else honestly.
If only our friends know how much we miss them and how much we want to spend every little moment with them. But life happens, we go through ups and downs because of the stress of this stressful life, that we could barely endure ourselves!
For our friendship bracelets, for our road trips, for our school trips, for our special disks at the class, for our inner jokes, for our first Facebook group, for our old and silly posts on each other's walls, for our special songs and dances, for our favorite movies and celebrities, for sharing our clothes, for making fun of each other, for holding each other in our times of weakness, for encouraging each other to do the right things, for all the secrets that we kept, for all these unforgettable moments that can't be counted in one article nor can be expressed in any words, stay here, my friend, no matter what.
We are stuck together, forever and ever.
